Goodbye Family Sessions! *Updated 2023*
* As of 2023, I am taking on a limited number of full family sessions per month & I still offer Fall Family Mini Sessions *
Say what? Yup. You read that right! Jami Tatum Photography will no longer be offering full, custom family sessions!
I've poured blood, sweat, & tears for weeks over this decision. How could I let my incredible JTP Families down like that? Some of you have been by my side since I started this gigmany many moons ago. Can you believe it's been 10 years since then? Because I am absolutely beside myself....

I am so honored and humbled that many of you continue to choose me year after year to document your families. I’ve watched your kids grow up and some of you have even become my best friends! Our kids are friends, some of your families are even part of mine, now! Birthday parties, even Thanksgivings have been shared together.
I feel pain when you feel pain. I experience the greatest joy when I see your happiness. I am so proud of all of your accomplishments that I have been included in over these years.
You guys hung in there with me through my fathers’ tragic passing that affected me immensely and deeply & you continued to support me while I weather that storm! You are the reason I am where I am today, & I simply cannot express how much you all mean to me in one blog post.

A change of pace
So, why the big change, you ask? Simply put, family matters. In the last year, while everyone learned just how important family portraits were, I learned some very important lessons too. Because I value capturing memories for families SO much, I actually made the mistake of valuing the feeling of ‘giving’ more than time spent with my own family.
I should have said "no" to more family sessions and "yes" to to more family time, but I just found ways to squeeze more sessions in. By Christmas, I had only spent enough time with my family to count on one hand. I was swamped, overwhelmed, burned out, if you will. I had lost sight of what meant more to me than anything in this world!
So, things are changing as I reconnect with my boys and pick up all the pieces I unintentionally scattered all over the place. While I will not be taking on full family sessions, anymore, I am introducing something just as awesome in place of that!
So, don’t panic just yet.

Where did family sessions go?
Starting 04/10/2021, I am replacing full custom family sessions with super-fun Family Mini Session events 3 times per year. No more hemming and hawing over locations-I will already have them picked out just for you! I will be holding Family Minis for Spring, Summer & Fall (I know you've got to get those holiday cards in! And don’t forget I’ve partnered with Minted to provide you guys a 20% discount on their site! Check out info about that, here ).
These family mini events just make sense. Shorter family sessions mean less time for little ones (and partners) who have short attention spans and just want it to be over with so they can get their ice cream (or Football Games). Plus, less time in the elements (think pollen, mosquitos & sweat-this is the south, after all...) is almost always everyones preference!
I’m kicking all this off with “Splash into Summer” Family mini sessions. I will be announcing the dates and times to my vip list, first, so be there or be square! Hint : it will be in June ;). Until then, enjoy this blast from the past slideshow of JTP families through the years!
