Hot Cocoa Bunny Bombs! | Happy Easter from JTP

Who loves Hot Cocoa!? Pick Me Pick Me!! Who loves chocolate bunnies? Not a chance! Those things are hollow like my soul. Kidding. I'm only kidding.

This year's Easter not-totally-fail is brought to you by some random TikTok video I saw and can no longer find. Maybe I should stop saving so many - I dunno.

For starters, in classic Jami fashion, I went to a Publix that I am not familiar with to quickly grab supplies. Life-Pro Tip: All Publix's are NOT the same lol. I had to phone a friend. Turns out, they were OUT of mini marshmallows. Awwww BEANS!

I was able to obtain chocolate easter bunnies that I double-checked because they were pretty heavy and didn't seem "hollow". Godiva Chocolate Bunnies are thicc bois. You have been warned.

I also needed some hot cocoa mix. I chose Swiss Miss : marshmallow lovers because I am a glutton for punishment, y'all! Then, I grabbed sprinkles and milk & ran out of there like my life depended on it. In case you weren't aware, I get extreme anxiety in stores, especially grocery stores & even more so when I am not familiar with the store. My super-amazing friend and fellow blogger/photographer who advocates for children on the spectrum and neuro A-typical kids at www.notsosupermomvssociety.com has been trying to help me get out of my house and tackle my anxiety headstrong.

Easter morning arrived before I had time to say "Hot Cocoa Bunny Bombs!" I made my kids shower because, lets face it, they are always so smelly. Why are boys so SMELLY? I may circle back to that later. We piled the supplies onto the kitchen table and I tried to wrangle all three of them at once. I'm proud that I actually orchestrated this whole thing without tears, y'all.

We started by snapping the ears off the bunnies. Jamison, 2.5, gave his bunny multiple lacerations and a lobotomy. The big boys took care to not create a crime scene at the table. They didn't want to help me clean up afterward. Evil laugh.

After snapping the ears off, we gently poured hot cocoa mix into the hollow bunnies & I just set aside a packet for Jamison, because he didn't have enough bunny to put anything into. After the hot cocoa mix, sprinkles were added for extra pizazz. We then heated up a kitchen knife (and by "we" I mean dad) and I used that to slightly melt the chocolate around the ears tp use as a "glue" to seal the pieces back together.

It was a stark 73 degrees fahrenheit, today, but we all pretended it was cold enough to sip hot cocoa haha.

Once the milk mugs came out of the microwave, the real fun began! I gave them a classic 1-2-3 & Jamison had already thrown his chocolate bunny butt cheek and sprinkles into his cup by the time I started snapping action shots. The two "correctly-made" bunnies did just as they should and marshmallows exploded to the surface! This was so fun. The toddler was screaming "WOOOOOOOOW!!!!" at the top of his lungs for what felt like an hour. Kid is LOUD.

Then, the stirring began. Jamison loves to stir all the things. This hot cocoa bunny bomb was perfect for him! He kept adding sprinkles from the table and the floor & maybe one from behind his ear? I am so glad we decided to have this little science experiment - I mean - Easter project, today!

So... Much... Stirring... add sprinkle... More Stirring...

Did I mention there was whipped cream? Yeah, I almost forgot about it until hubs opened the fridge and reminded me! Casa Tatum lives & BREATHES for Redi Whip.

What a morning!
