What started your photography journey?
I’d dabbled in photography for a few years, always fascinated by how light could be manipulated to create dramatic effects. But in 2009, when my first son arrived, I gave it a real shot (pun intended). People said I had ‘an eye for it,’ but honestly, my early photos were a hot mess express, and I was about to pull the emergency brake and bail. After way too many odd angles, questionable crops, and poorly-lit shots, I finally figured it out! I taught myself manual mode and upgraded from my trusty Kodak EasyShare to my first DSLR. Years of workshops, mentorships, and practice later, I’m still learning. Now my firstborn’s 15, a creative dork who dodges my camera, but I still catch him when he’s not paying attention!

What areas do you serve/travel to?
I am based out of Trussville, AL and serve North Central Alabama. I am also available for travel to virtually anywhere to document your family.

What if the weather is bad?
This is a loaded question and the answer is a little tricky! Sometimes it snows in Alabama & it rains, here, too. As long as there isn’t a threat of severe weather, photoshoots will continue rain or shine! If your outdoor session is scheduled during rainy season, pack an umbrella. My goal is to capture the connection and love of your family and that can happen whether you have a close relationship to Mother Earth or if you cry when your hair gets wet. Obviously if the weather is totally awful, we will reschedule your session to another date to be safe.
