We went to Visionland again, y’all!

As though it would seem, Noah was sad that he missed out on our last Visionland adventure, so he tagged along for this one! Let’s dive in.

Different friends; Same fun

I never quite get that mesmerizing “We’re-about-to-have-the-time-of-our-lives” pic at the front gate to Visionland, AKA Alabama Adventure. I am usually - HEY SQUIRREL!- too mesmerized, myself, to even remember I have a camera dangling from my neck. So, enjoy this not-quite-entrance shot I managed to capture for you!

Better hide “them cheeks”!

My kids are WEIRD. Have I ever told you just how weird my kids are? I encourage them to be weird. It’s so much better than being boring.

The first thing we did at Visionland this trip, involved Jamison trying to flip on his head while Noah seized an opportunity to run up and smack “them cheeks” as he calls it… I feel like things were FAR less weird after this moment. Noah was setting the expectation bar super low so we wouldn’t leave disappointed. ha. haha.

Frogger - 1 | Jami - 0

We split up the team into bigs & littles, evenly divided ( 4 Bigs to 2 Littles ). While we sent the bigs to their doom with D, Taylor & I kept tabs on the Littles and the first thing they wanted to do was ride on those stupid-cute frogs!

IMG_6336_STOMPED.jpg

Again and Again

I can not tell you how many times we got back in line to ride the frogs “one more time”. While the others were being dropped hundreds of feet in the air, we were content just riding frogs over and over…

The Drop Zone

So, the Bigs decided they wanted to shave ten years off our lives by getting dropped hundreds of feet from the sky. Turns out, it’s the second most boring ride at Visionland, only surpassed by the kiddie boat ride featured in the other Visionland Blog.

More like the yawn zone!

Bless all their hearts. They pretended for the camera as they painfully slowly made their decent toward the ground. This ride was a zone, alright. A zone of everything that is NOT dropping at high speeds. It inched down and stopped, then inched down and stopped, and so-on for an eternity. Imagine realizing you need to use the restroom at the top and thinking “Oh, i’ll be okay! It’s gonna drop me down, then I can run to the potty!” Then being slowly inched downward at negative miles per hour and coming to a jerky stop every few minutes until you finally get to the bottom, asleep & soaked. I’m glad I wasn’t up there. LOL.

Teacup Break!

After all that, we needed a break. To the Tea Cups we headed! I consider myself an expert in my field, but I’m also no sports photographer. These kids were spinning SO FAST! I barely got any pictures in focus, y’all! This was probably the most frustrating part of the day for me, other than Andy getting lost. More on that, later.

Devising a plan

I snapped away while Nora schemed her heart out.

Side-Note: Use a sharpie pen to write your child’s name and your phone number on their hand & use liquid bandages to water-seal it when you’re at a theme park / water park!

I have no idea what was racing through her mind, but it must have been brilliant! I am sure of it.

Ready… Set… RAMPAGE!

Some were excited, some were scared, all would be traumatized by the end of this 1 1/2 - minute wooden coaster! If you ever feel like being covered in bruises and scrapes-The Rampage is YOUR Coaster! This dude was such a fun ride & a lot bumpier than I remember from my childhood.

Remind me to show you the bruises!

If you can get off this ride with no bruises or scrapes, you…. you’re an alien! It’s just. Plain. Impossible to make a clean get away!

BLAST OFF!

BLAST OFF!

IMG_5232_STOMPED.jpg

The Unspeakable Trauma

Nobody started that journey feeling like they did when it came to an end. Two were traumatized and everyone was a bit banged up. After this, I talked my two into riding in the very front with me. I had to ride it twice to ride in the front with both Bigs. Both times they agreed that the front seat is the ONLY seat worth sitting in on a roller coaster. My dad told me that when I ws their age & I didn’t believe him until I tried it. It’s SO much smoother in the front, plus you can see and prepare for what’s coming at you. Not getting sprayed in the face by someone else’s barf is just another front-seat coaster perk!

Swing Swing, Swing the spinning step…

You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress, OH-OH!

I did it again, didn’t I! If you don’t have Sixpence None the Richer playing in your head, are you even in the right place?

The Majestic Shoe Thief Machine in all its shining glory

“Don’t lose your shoes!” I shouted into the void as they boarded this swingy beast. Spoiler alert: Yes, we did locate all missing shoes at the end and no one - not even ME - got smacked in the head with an unidentified flying shoe!

Let’s get Scrambled!

We should have known with a name like “Scrambler” that they would be shaken, not stirred! I chose not to board this ride after the beating I took from the Rampage Coaster. I’m glad I sat this one out. My head is spinning just thinking about how fast they were going!

IMG_6123_STOMPED.jpg

Oh Look! I actually got one in focus!

It seemed like they all flew past me at 300 mph & I was transported into some sick-twisted Nascar daydream where a lot of folks puked…. But I did manage to snag a handful of action shots :P.

Revenge of the Derpy Worm Coaster

The Derpy Worm… The KooKoo Caterpillar… This was no Alice in Wonderland ride! It was more like Alice In Chains. Much like the Rampage, this baby grub coaster beat us up with brute force! The ride was but little, and the damage was fierce!

IMG_5472_STOMPED.jpg

Who got the Chooch, baby

You know me and my aggravating ADHD superpower of turning EVERYTHING into a song we all know and love. sigh. This Train ride , uh….. Some stuff happened with it, y’all. “Wheel” just say some parts kinda fell off mid-ride and a TON of laughter was shared by everyone who witnessed it!

Refreshment

Mixed drinks, anyone? One really cool thing about Alabama Adventure membership is unlimited free fountain drinks and refills! I can’t wait to buy the season pass again, next year!

Alas.

Is there anything more adorable than two small humans holding hands? I think not. Idk. What I DO know is that this day was loaded with fun and the experience was worth every penny spent!

The Blooper Reel is also pretty OP with cuteness. Check it out, next!
