Green Eggs & Ham Rhyming Puzzle
' Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory' - Dr. Seuss
Welcome to Wacky Wednesday, a weekly Dr. Seuss inspired activity to spark creativity, fun & learning! Lets make a memory!I would like to start Wacky Wednesday off in a classic that is familiar to all, ' Green Eggs & Ham.' This activity will be oodles more fun if you read this with your littles before we start the activity. If you don't have it on hand, there are plenty of Youtube Videos! After much debate, I decided on a rhyming puzzle inspired by, you guessed it, Green Eggs & Ham! I started by picking out all the rhyming words from the book (rain/train, goat/boat, etc.). I got some printer paper & drew the rhyming words as cartoons (but you can print these from a quick google image search and trace them). I made 'puzzle' edges that were all different, then outlined everything in sharpie. This is where it gets fun! I let the boys color my little cartoons, then I cut them out! A quick mixing around & shuffling of the pieces and VIOLA!Go over the pieces with your little Seuss's & talk about rhyming words & watch their little minds at work. That wraps up this weeks activity!"Today was good, today was fun, tomorrow is another one." - Dr. SeussI want to see your Wacky Wednesday! Post your photos in the Facebook Group & share with me! I want to know your ideas for future Wacky Wednesdays, too!Do you love spending hands-on creative time with your little ones as much as I do?!
