My Weird Amazing Family | Central Alabama Family Photographer

Hey you! I am a fab fam photographer! If you've been following the blog, I totally know what you're thinking! How come this Central Alabama family photographer keeps posting this crazy-personal mumbo jumbo!? Well..... It all started roughly 25 years ago, when I was born without a name. That's right. I wasn't named until I was leaving the hospital with my dumbfounded parents because I was SO. AWESOME. that the name they had picked out JUST WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH. Lindsey Taylor? No, they'll call her Lynn! Peter Jacob? Pshhh. This ain't no boy!(Ala-BAMA! wahoo!). So Jamie Leanne rolled out. It was random. It was common. It wasn't quite awesome enough for me, YET! My father, who is one of those difficult types(lol) had to make sure I was different. After about 4.5 minutes of careful contemplation(probably even less than that!) it was decided that I would forever be branded with 'JAMI'.... 25 years later, and I've finally come to terms with the fact that NOBODY will EVER spell my name right... And that's okay. I know I'm awesome & different.... And that's all that counts, right? *redneck* I don't need no E on my name! lol *End Redneck* So, I want to share some recent-ness from what's left of my tiny, weird, amazing family! It begun with Ruby Nell. My sons' Great GREAT Grandmother. She created all of the beautiful souls that make up my family. Never has there ever been a woman so generous, kind, thoughtful, creative, and down-right RAD, as Ruby Nell. Seriously... She should be famous!!!! lol.So, this brings me back to the original question.... Just why am I so personal, with you guys? There is no cookie-cutter answer to this & my best guess is that I just have this awful crazy life, and I'm determined to make something out of it! I want to get to know each and every one of my followers, my clients, my friends. I want you to know ME. I want our first chat over coffee to feel like we've known each other for years. I value deep, personal connections & I have a very special clientele that share these same values. We value connection, and emotion, and memories. We value something that cannot be bought, something that can be preserved, but cannot be replaced. Something timeless, priceless, and worth saving for. When you walk into my home, and any of my family's homes, you will find all of those feelings, emotions, values, memories. They are hanging on the walls, they are sitting on desks, on console tables, heck-we even have a few retro photo mugs(Fadddddd alert!). You will NEVER find a DVD with my family's memories hidden in an aluminum and polycarbonate plastic array of technology(aka Compact Disc or CD). A few months ago, my far-away family drove from Texas to Alabama to visit. We all got together (all TWO of us. Just kidding... But seriously. #smallestfamilyever).I was honored to be able to be a part of something bigger than myself. A part of a time that will be remembered for years and years to come. It is such a blessing and an honor to be able to be my own Family's photographer. Plus, I get to keep all their pretty faces as close to me as I can reach for that wall-canvas!

I want to share with you guys, my Weird, Amazing, TINY Family! Get to know them, too... Because they are me.
